Connected Again Finally....Wedding and Baby Update

I am just now posting because I haven't had a computer for a week or so....my old one crapped out and it took me awhile to get my desktop from the office.

The last couple weeks since we found out about the triplets have been kind of surreal. Most of it has been fun, seeing everyone's reaction when we tell them and thinking about how neat it is that this has happened to us, but some of it has been a little freaky. I have been extra cautious because I still feel like I don't really know anything about carrying triplets. All I have is what they told me on the day we found out about them. We have spent quite a bit of time on the phone with the specialist's office because they have been trying to fit us in. We are finally going on Thursday, I have a million questions and I can't wait to hear their little heart beats again. It has also been kind of stressful figuring out where we are going to live. Right now we live in a two bedroom apartment and there is no way that will work with triplets, I also might have to go on bedrest and if that happens then I will need help taking care of Aidan who is in need of more entertaining these days. Chris and I will probably end up moving in with my mom, which isn't really what I wanted to happen but it will be great to have the help and it will get us by until we can get a house big enough for our exploding family and get these babies into the world safely. I will put up ultrasound pictures soon and also give an update after the doctors apointment on Thursday.

Now for a wedding update...We have kept the same date on the 19th but we moved it to 4pm at my mothers house. We will meet at her house for coctails and then walk down to the beach for the ceremony. The reception will be back at the house right after.I was starting to think that the wedding was going to fall by the wayside and get forgotten but my family has realy pulled through for this and I think it will be beautiful. The most important thing is that at the end of the day I will be married to the love of my life and that is more than I ever could have asked for. One more thing about the wedding is that the invitations have been messed up and its a total disaster so if you haven't been invited and you know you would be then just call and RSVP we want all of our friends and family to be there, so just call.

Well my little rascall is trying to pull the key board off the desk so I have to go tend to him. Please keep me and my growing family in your thoughts and prayers we need all the support we can get. I'll leave you with a quote to ponder until next time "How can there be too many babies, thats like saying there are too many flowers." --Anne Geddes

TRIPLETS!!!!!!!!!!

WOW....Well the meaning of the name of this blog has just been changed dramatically! It originally meant that I had Three boys in my home, and now it is for the THREE babies that I have growing in my tummy.

Yesterday Chris and I went to the doctor for the first ultrasound and were not expecting any fanfare...we were just hoping to find a heart beat and measure a little bean pod. After waiting or about an hour we finally got called back for the ultrasound. Not even one minute into the ultrasound the nurse said "Were you taking any hormones to get pregnant?" I responded confused "No...birth control....Why?" and she said " Well you're about to have a stroke then...." Chris and I looked at each other confused and worried and Chris asked me if she was trying to tell us we were having twins and she said " No not exactly..." She turned on the bigger monitor and pulled up the image of my womb and she didn't even have to say anything....it was as clear as day....Chris and I stared at the monitor stunned as the woman counted out our three babies. There is set of twins and then another separate baby!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everything that followed seemed surreal, the ultrasound tech ran to get my ob gyn and we started calling family. My doctor said it is almost unheard of to have spontaneous triplets without hormone therapy and that it is less than a 1 in 80,000 chance of it happening. I had to get referred to a specialist and I got briefed by my doctor about the hard road ahead. I will face bed rest, premature labor, and I will definitely have a c section. What a crazy day!!

We also decided to cancel the big wedding and have a smaller and much less expensive wedding on the same day at the beach by my house. We are going to start calling the invitees to tell them that we are having triplets instead of a wedding and informing them of the new plan.

I will continue to keep everyone updated throughout this exciting adventure...Wish me luck and keep these precious fragile little babies in your thoughts and prayers.

New Blog

Let me start of by introducing myself and the boys, My name Is Alexandra and I am a realtor/ project manager for two companies owned by the same people (my mom and step dad). I am 21 and I am engaged to an amazing man, Christopher Holmes, we have an 9 month old boy together and are expecting our second baby. I also have a soon to be step son Devin who is turning 7 on Aug. 7th, he is Chris' son.

Chris is my fiance he is 29 and is the head contractor for Barefoot construction which is the company that I'm a project manager for Barefoot Construction. Our company builds custom modular homes Coastline Homes. He and I met working for Galveston Beach Patrol and were just friends until fate decided to intervene and we had our first baby Aidan before we were even dating. After he was born we couldn't help but fall in love with each other. In June we got engaged and started planning our big elaborate wedding, when once again fate jumped in and changed the plan. We found out the second week of July that we were going to have another baby, so we moved our wedding up to September 19th, 2009. We can't wait to get married and build our quickly growing family. It's fun being in love with him!!

Aidan is my 9 month old son and is growing very quickly right before my eyes. He was born October 28th 2008 at Clear Lake Regional Hospital at 7 pounds 2 ounces 19 inches long. He is the best thing that ever happened to me, not only did he bring more joy and happiness to my life then I ever could have asked for but he also brought his father and I together and made us both grow up and realize what is important in life. He is cruising around all the furniture and will be walking any day now, I'm sure of it. He squawks now and makes noise constantly, he can say momma and dad but not to anyone in particular.

Devin is my 7 yr. old soon to be step son. He is Chris' son and has been an amazing addition to our little family. Devin is a goofy, loving, and always entertaining. He and Aidan both spend more time teaching us then I think we teach them. Devin loves playing games, swimming, playing outside, and especially loves playing with his baby brother. He is starting second grade in August at Trinity. We are all excited about this new adventure.
